Can you tell us a bit about the beginning of your career and why you chose to venture into jewelry design?
I chose the field of jewelry design at a very young age, but it was at the age of sixteen that I realized I wanted to specialize in this field, transforming my passion into my profession.
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
I draw inspiration from everything and everywhere that can provide me with the creative idea from which I derive the design of a piece as an artistic painting.
What is your favorite piece from your designs and why?
Every piece of jewelry I have designed holds emotional significance for me. However, there are three favorite pieces, all made with my favorite stone, emerald. Firstly, a classic emerald ring, with its green color symbolizing life and nature, gifted to me by my mother on my first business trip to the Hong Kong Gem and Diamond Fair. Secondly, an emerald ring adorned with natural yellow diamonds, also one of my favorite stones. The last favorite piece is a contemporary ring made of Plexiglas and decorated with emeralds, which I designed on October 10, 2020.
What is your favorite gemstone and why?
My favorite gemstone is emerald, as it symbolizes the color of life and purity. I also adore natural colored diamonds, particularly pink and yellow. Natural pearls hold a special place in my heart as well, cherished by my grandfather and mother.
If you had the opportunity to collaborate with another brand, who would you choose and why?
I believe collaboration should be within the same field but in a different scope.
Can you describe a typical workday for you?
I start my day by meeting with the team manager to review the previous day’s orders and ensure smooth daily operations. Then, I attend meetings, either in person or virtually, followed by managing customer orders and meeting with clients personally.
What are your future projects?
Let’s leave future projects for the future where they belong; we will all know when the time comes.
Are you interested in fashion? Who are your favorite designers, both internationally and in the Arab world?
Yes, definitely. My interest in jewelry design stemmed from my interest in fashion. In the Middle East, I admire the designs of Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad, and Rami Al Ali. Internationally, my favorite designers include Zac Posen and Ralph & Russo.
