How do you stand out from the rest of the designers?
We stand out by not standing alone, it’s beyond fashion and design, we love to collaborate, endorse and support. There’s room for everyone to grow within the industry. Together as local, young or global designers, we aim to inspire each other with creative ideas and new fashion that break the status quo that inspire and innovate the industry, through our sheer willingness to co-collaborate & co-create we find inspiration from others and aim to stimulate and motivate each other.
What artist or designer would you want to collaborate with in the future?
Firstly, there’s too many people to mention, from Jewellery or fashion designers, a collaboration is a cocktail of ideas submerged into one piece, each collaboration will yield a completely different outcome, to limit that is to limit progress and design, we would love to collaborate with global brands or upcoming designers to introduce our fashion to the world.
Where do you see your brand in the next five years?
We see it as a global established brand, a regular household name with several branches accessible around the world, as Hamads we aim to expand our horizon push the boundaries of fashion at a global scale.
Describe your brand in three words.
Powerful. Raw. Artistic
What advice would you give to a new designer?
Simply put, It would be an amazing to experience the potential and the magnitude of your own talent, to choose a path driven from your instinct and passion, inspired by your imagination and vision, trust the process and trust in yourself and more importantly take a risk, risk everything for your vision and take the courage needed from every win along the way. You can just set your vision and execute it no matter what.
What are some of the challenges you faced when you first started your brand?
The biggest challenge that we originally faced was projecting our individuality in the brand itself, to project the element of differentiation we instinctively feel on to the design with elegance in an array colours and sophistication, to visualise and imagine is something each designer has in common, yet the challenge is bringing your imagination to life and to allow the fabric and style to speak your vision in itself.
Where does your inspiration come from?
Our inspiration is derived from all walks of life, traveling in different locations, cultures, raw materials and elements within nature. for instance, a green Amazon could reflect a set of colours or the aurora lights reflecting a motion within the fabric for a new collection. It’s everything and everyone within our daily interaction and our life that touches us that is an inspiration, it invokes an emotion within us and an energy to manifest it into our fashion and our reality.
How has the preparation process been like leading up to CR Runway?
Its been in our mind since July, to deliver the perfect piece and the ideal message in line with all the amazing brands we’re collaborating and inline with. The process has been a truly inspiring and thought-provoking experience, indulging into the design minds of others and meeting inspiring individuals, simply put I’m grateful to God and for everyone involved…
What is your favourite part about being involved in one of the biggest fashion shows in history?
Having the platform to showcase our culture, our ideas and ethos, projecting the Hamdis vision, not only to the fashion industry but to the world at its biggest stage in history.
