FENDI unveils a complete collection of perfumes

Jun 23, 2024

As the centenary of the Roman Maison draws near, FENDI reveals itself in a whole new light, a more intimate facet, close to the skin. Seven exclusive fragrances, embodying the soul of the Maison, retrace its saga, personify its values and immerse us in a unique family culture.

This olfactory story is rooted back to 1925, when Adele Casagrande Fendi and her husband Edoardo Fendi opened a fur and leathergoods workshop in Rome, passed on from generation to generation, from matriarch to strong, inspiring and inspired women, across a closely bonded family. A story that outlines the future of perfumery: exclusive, narrative, vibrant and embodied, precious and passionate. Seven fragrances, seven personalities and as many emblematic places. Seven fragrances, united as a family. A collection like an invitation to journey into the intimacy of FENDI and its leading figures.

FENDI Roma

The city that awakens all senses You can visit Rome with your eyes, with your heart, with your nose. The scent of its stones and marbles, changing through the day, as the sun exhales their minerality. The resinous fragrance of umbrella pines. The freshness of the gardens, with their laurel, rose and lantana trees. The strong smell of leather from artisans’ workshops. Rome is a city of scents. FENDI is the essence of Rome. The cradle of Western civilization, a city of art and culture, of the Dolce Vita described by Federico Fellini, of natural sophistication infused with elegance and offbeat humor, as well as a paradoxical blend of exuberance and simplicity. FENDI is Roman before it is Italian. The Maison embodies the city’s values, embraces its history and emulates its spirit.

Arts and Crafts

FENDI, The undisputed master of materials The origins of FENDI lie in the rarity of noble raw materials: fur and leather. They demand a great deal of humility, respect and mastery from the hands that work them. They do not tolerate approximation, and require the highest level of craftsmanship, in the purest artisanal tradition. This is the foundation upon which the Roman Maison was built and has continued to perpetuate its crafts for almost a century. Today, the fragrance collection is a reflection of this artistry and an olfactory expression of the very essence of FENDI: total freedom for creative gestures, and the love of skillfully selected, richly used fine materials.

Orange blossom absolute from Tunisia or bergamot from Calabria region in Italy, Atlas cedar, patchouli from Indonesia, iris from France, vanilla from Madagascar... these are the finest, richest, highly concentrated (18% on average), natural and artisanal raw ingredients that compose the palette of the three perfumers who created the seven fragrances in the collection.

Quentin Bisch, Fanny Bal and Anne Flipo have successfully crafted the fragrances that the Maison’s Artistic Directors have imagined: Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Couture and Womenswear, Silvia Venturini Fendi, Artistic Director of Accessories and Menswear, and Delfina Delettrez Fendi, Artistic Director of Jewellery, all closely involved throughout the entire artistic process.

This attention to detail unites all the Maison’s trades and anchors Haute Parfumerie in a story that is unique to FENDI. The finest master glassmakers crafted a refillable bottle, simple and evocative, at once sensitive and statutory, subtle and emblematic. Sculptural and pure, the precise gesture of a gouge cuts an arch, a vocabulary typical of Roman architecture. The very design of the bottle, its brass details and the delicacy of its cap signed by the iconic FF recall the founders’ initial credo: master the material and offer it its purest, noblest expression.

Incarnations

The narrative fragrances of a family saga Each fragrance is inspired by one of the outstanding personalities of this close knit chosen family. Their memories inspired the perfumers to create the olfactory stories expressed in each composition, with tenderness, humor, simplicity. Prima inter pares, Adele Casagrande Fendi, the matriarch, whose name embodies the destiny and success of FENDI, with this Casa Grande, symbolizing the great Maison.

Anna Fendi, her daughter and one of the legendary Fendi sisters, with Dolce Bacio, echoing the memory of a mother’s kiss.

Silvia Venturini Fendi – third generation and creator of the iconic bags Baguette and Peekaboo – with Perché No, an expression she has made her own, because at FENDI, nothing is impossible.

Her two daughters, Leonetta Luciano Fendi and Delfina Delettrez Fendi – fourth generation – with, respectively, Ciao Amore, a spontaneous and natural greeting, and Sempre Mio, the living roots of a heritage.

The latter’s young twins, Tazio et Dardo Vascellari Delettrez Fendi with La Baguette where exquisite simplicity meets the signature bag.

And lastly Kim Jones, the British designer who, with Prima Terra, narrates the land of his childhood.

Each an invitation to discover the secret gardens that weave the narrative thread of the collection. “The fragrance collection tells the story of FENDI from another point of view.

It expresses the essence of the Maison in a different way, by telling its story in a different language. Today, at FENDI, we can readily say that we have explored and used all the senses.“ Silvia Venturini Fendi.

Exclusively available in FENDI boutiques and at fendi.com from June 20th, 2024, the fragrances translate the Maison’s expertise through the language of perfumery.
