In a tribute to its centennial milestone, Loro Piana announces its first-ever exhibition, scheduled to run from March 22 to May 5, 2025. This event is part of diversified moments of global celebrations marking the Maison’s 100th anniversary. The exhibition will be held at the Museum of Art Pudong (MAP) in Shanghai, a landmark venue designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel (AJN), the acclaimed Paris-based design firm. This is the first time the Museum, opened in 2021, will host an exhibition with a luxury House.
Curated by Judith Clark, the retrospective offers an immersive journey through Loro Piana’s family history and heritage, chronicled through a captivating tapestry of archival visuals, artworks, and special garments that will elevate the Loro Piana savoir faire to an art level. It celebrates the Maison’s exceptional craftmanship, showcasing its outstanding world of fibres, fabrics, icons, and symbols, through a tactile and sensorial lens.
China is integral to Loro Piana’s history and growth, highlighting a journey of excellence that started with cashmere decades ago, creating valuable and authentic partnerships. With this exhibition the Maison pays tribute to the very beginning of its masterful chain of hands in China and to the longstanding collaborations with the herders and communities preserving the heritage of cashmere.
The retrospective promises to be an inspiring celebration of Loro Piana’s legacy, blending tradition with innovation and offering a rare glimpse into the Maison’s unique world.
