Repossi - 10 Years of "Serti Sure Vide" Collection

Aug 1, 2024

First created in 2014 by Repossi, the Serti sur Vide collection renews the classic codes of Haute Joaillerie by revealing pear-shaped center stones that appear to float on minimalist and contemporary designs.

Serti Sure Vide, A symbol of Repossi's craftsmanship and its avant-grate solitaire

Serti sur Vide, an emblem of Repossi’s avant-garde, celebrates the craftsmanship of a renowned Maison on Place Vendôme for over 35 years. This collection, which pays tribute to Repossi’s signature pear-shaped stone, perfectly illustrates the fusion of heritage and modernity. The pear- shaped diamonds are carefully chosen for their elegant shape and ideal proportions, highlighted by the “Eiffel Tower” setting—a technical feat that creates an illusion of levitation and enhances their natural brilliance in sleek designs.

Born from a shared avant-garde vision between Alberto Repossi and his daughter Gaia, Serti sur Vide boldly rethinks the classic solitaire. Since its inception, the collection has been enriched with gravity-defying earcuffs and other designs that rebel against jewelry conventions while celebrating the remarkable precision of the selected gems.

Chapter I : Celebration of Serti Sur Vide Around Center stone

Ten years after its launch in 2014, Repossi celebrates the Serti sur Vide collection through two chapters revisiting its codes and paying tribute to neo-wears extracted from the Maison’s archives.

The first chapter, unveiled in January 2024, presents 11 pieces combining technicality and flexibility, punctuated by bezel settings magnifying the center stones. These parures, available in diamonds and emeralds, display powerful and unconventional signatures. The tie necklace of this first act pays homage to the famous necklace of the same name created by Alberto Repossi in 2000.

Chapter II: Tribute to composition

This second chapter, presented in June 2024 at the Centre Pompidou, pays tribute to the neo-portés expression dear to Maison Repossi. The starting point for these new creations is a drawing found in the archives: an ear cuff designed by Alberto Repossi nearly 20 years ago. The creative studio focused on this piece and sought to reinvent the cascade diamond, revealing 6 minimalist pieces combining delicacy and technicality, each demonstrating the Maison’s jewelry craftsmanship (each element of the mount is designed to be as invisible as possible while providing flexibility and movement). Chapter II revisits the Maison’s essentials: a phalanx ring, an earcuff hugging the ear curve, a plunging necklace, asymmetric earrings, and a sculptural cuff. Each piece offers a new way to wear diamonds in composition, showcasing them uniquely.

The Maison explored new concepts for this collection. Thus, the classic chandelier earring becomes a source of inspiration for new creations, just as the tie necklace was rethought and modernized in the first chapter.

The plunging necklace is an innovation for Repossi. The design of the Serti Sur Vide necklace was, until now, short and close to the neck: the choker. The 7 pear-shaped diamonds totaling 4 carats form a composition for a cascading fall that perfectly embraces the neckline.

Finally, Repossi wanted to highlight in Haute Joaillerie a bold design testifying to its creativity: asymmetry. The classic chandelier earring is here modernized with a unique style: an earring set with 3 pear-shaped diamonds of 1.5 carats on the right ear and a stunning earring displaying a cascade of 8 pear-shaped diamonds for 3.2 carats on the left ear.

The Maison is renowned for its sculptural earcuffs, the creative studio wanted here to pay homage to this signature piece by reinterpreting its design from an archival drawing dating from the 2010s by Alberto Repossi. The 12 pear-shaped diamonds totaling 4.5 carats here adorn the entire ear, from lobe to cartilage.

For the first time in the Serti sur Vide collection, the Maison has created a cuff, a signature piece of Repossi that could be seen in previous Berbere and Antifer collections. Set with 7 pear-shaped diamonds, the cuff is open to perfectly embrace the lines of the wrist.

The iconic Serti sur Vide design is here enhanced with a “twin” ring that recalls the beginnings of the collection and Gaia Repossi’s first creations. Repossi once again demonstrates its avant-garde approach by offering an innovative way to wear the solitaire. The 8 pear-shaped diamonds of this ring, totaling 3 carats, adorn all the phalanges, forgetting the structure and allowing the diamonds to float for the first time across the entire finger.

Serti sur Vide is the definitive reinvention of the classic solitaire. Repossi’s creative studio have revisited a solitaire worked with a new composition of diamonds. The ring features 7 pears centered on the finger for 3.5 carats, revealing an iconic piece reimagined as Haute Joaillerie.
