Nov 30, 2024

Under the directives of Her Excellency Minister of Public Works and Municipal Affairs Dr. Noura Al-Meshaan, Green Fields Company, led by its CEO Sheikha Abdulaziz Al-Hajri, is working on greening the roads leading to and from the airport in preparation for welcoming the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries before the scheduled meeting on Sunday, December 1st.

In collaboration with specialized landscape design engineers, a comprehensive plan has been developed for greening the roads. The plan includes creating continuous green spaces by using local plants that adapt to the Kuwaiti environment and are drought-resistant, such as palm trees, in addition to flowering shrubs and ground plants. The trees and plants are arranged in a way that ensures the highest level of aesthetics and sustainability. The project also aims to reduce pollution by improving air quality through the planting of appropriate trees and plants.

Sheikha Abdulaziz Al-Hajri has played a significant role in raising environmental awareness among citizens and encouraging them to participate in the project through awareness campaigns and workshops.

The project is expected to have a major positive impact, not only in terms of aesthetics but also environmentally. The green spaces will contribute to improving air quality and reducing surrounding temperatures, creating a more comfortable and attractive environment for residents and visitors.

The collaboration between Dr. Noura Al-Meshaan and Sheikha Abdulaziz Al-Hajri reflects the spirit of joint work and commitment to achieving sustainable development in Kuwait. This project serves as a model for cooperation between government entities and civil society to achieve environmental and aesthetic goals that enhance the quality of life and present an honorable image of Kuwait to its guests from the GCC leaders.
