"One Shot" with Kuwaiti Poet Talal Al Saeed

Our guest today on One Shot interviews is the veteran poet Talal Al Seed, one of the most famous Nabat poets in Kuwait and the Arab Peninsula.

He is one of the first poets that gave rise to the Nabati poetry in daily press. One of his most celebrated poetry collection is “Smiling Tears”.

Talal bin Othman Mazal Al-Saeed was born in a neighborhood of Kuwait on May 3, 1955. He received his education in Kuwaiti schools and began his journey with Kuwaiti poetry at an early age. He witnessed two generations of Nabati poets, who significantly influenced the development of his poetic personality. History records many poetic exchanges between him and several poets of his era, especially in Kuwait. Talal also pursued a career in journalism and media, writing articles for various Kuwaiti and Arab newspapers for several years. Later, he transitioned to television work on Kuwaiti TV before moving into radio broadcasting. Over the course of his career, he produced numerous radio programs in Kuwait and other Gulf countries, which were well-received by audiences. Talal Al-Saeed is also one of the founding members of the Nabati Poets' Diwaniya in Kuwait.
